The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean and a nice size. The bathroom even came with a new, full-size bath tub--- perfect for a candlelight bubble bath. I highly recommend this for couples. Our experience was better then even expected.

Excellent service both at hotel and to and from Gatwick airport. Very friendly, helpful staff. Very good evening meal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel as an ideal evening/night before flight.

Great "old world" feel. Newly renovated with nice detail. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Location to other services is very inconvenient. Restaurant only open in morning and evening and prices are very expensive. Windows in lower rooms quite drafty, making room cold.

The room we had was a bit noisy, but this was probably other guests inconsideration whilst using the stairs nearby, in the early hours of the morning, although this is no fault of ther hotel at all

The standard of food was excellent.
Although the hotel was being refurbished it still failed on basic points, ie room not serviced during the day, room very small and facilities not working.

The staff were very friendly.
The room was 'tired' with a cheap wardrobe and absolutely no good decor or nice touches at all. It was cold (there were gaps in the sash window and a large gap under the room door) and I had to ask for two extra blankets for overnight. The bathroom appeared relatively new but was poorly finished with a very wobbly heated towel rail that did not work.

Very dated decoration and amenities, although it looks as though they are starting refurbishment (based on seeing painters and decorators around). We found communication with the staff a little confusing as English was not their first language.

We found the staff helpful. They were punctual in providing transport to and from Gatwick. The room was extremely comfortable, spacious and pleasantly decorated. It was extremely good value for money.

The hotel definately wasnt ready for guests, we had booked with two older people and were sent down a staircase covered in a dust sheet. We got paint on a raincoat, all on our suitcase and over my bag. They cleaned it with paint thinners and were apologetic.
